The Covid-19 pandemic has adversely affected all parts of the world, and our community in Phuket has not been spared either: it is unpredictable and constantly evolving, and has created pressure on everyone.
St. Joseph’s Church with our Parish Priest and volunteers has prepared and distributed Food Packs to a total of 320 families last month. 90 Families from areas near St. Joseph’s Church received Food Packs on 23-25 June 2020 while 230 Families from Patong area received Food Packs on 25-29 June 2020.
UPDATE:
25 July 2020: Through the generosity of donors and volunteers, St. Joseph’s Church distributed another batch of Food Packs to 120 families from Cherngthalay, Patong and Phuket Town. These brought the total beneficiaries of the Relief Efforts to 440 families.

The distribution of food packs aims at helping those families hardest hit by the effects of COVID-19. Many are on no or low incomes caused by the temporary closure of tourist-related businesses on the island. Below is an excerpt from a message sent by one of the volunteers who helped on the distribution of the food packages.
Dear Fr. John,
It is such a blessing receiving 22 food reliefs packs for our fellow Filipinos still in hard times in Phuket. No work, No pay since April of this year. Some since February. Coming from you especially with the assistance my CFC leaders & members.
God is so good..
God bless you and your kind heart..
God bless us all
These efforts were made possible by the generosity of donors, visitors at our church, parishioners and volunteers who prepared the food packs and assisted on it’s distribution. If you have any questions on how you can support our parish and its works, you may contact our Parish Priest, Fr. John.
